StAiNs oN mY sHiRt

I was just going through my old pics during school days and those golden days were just flashing me like some 1980’s film. One incident I remembered the most was “HOLIDAYS!!” After a hectic compulsion to score the top ranks from home the only possible way to rely on was those holidays. I still remember after every Quarterly, half yearly exams we used to get hols of around 10 days. But those were never enough for me. It happens even now that you think you have 10 days hols and the next second u open your eyes after the small nap those 10 days are gone. So always used to wait for the annual holidays. As a kid I loved those days as I used to get a whole lot of 3 months to do all those masti!!
During such a time, I was in some 4th or something…Dad got transfer to totally new state, new people to mingle, a whole lot of new friends, different language etc… Days were passing usual with me getting used to the surroundings. I used to commute to school through a van and that van driver used to take all those who travelled in that van to some picnic spot on the last day of annual exam.
I was very eager to go for the picnic. I had changed my dress after the exam and was ready on all new shirt and skirt. Unknowing the terror which was awaiting my arrival outside, I happily walked towards the van……Suddenly I noticed a whole lot of seniors forming a gang in front of me. Everywhere there was noise and enjoyment. I as a kid was known for my loud mouth as a talkative kid. I was about to ask them that the blue ink started spilling on all parts of my new shirt from those fountain pens, camlin pens and all those ink pens which they had used. One had even brought a bottle full of camlin blue ink for this purpose. This was one common practice in that school. As I was a new comer I discovered it late and had to go for picnic in the same school uniform. I don’t know if this practice still continues but those stains on my shirt became even more memorable when I reached home. Yes, Yes you guessed it right, the stains were gone after the first wash but the actual wash was done on me by my mom!!!
